Final rites for long-time Fairfield businessman, John Vurdulas, 94, were held at Johnson's Chapel Saturday afternoon with Accountant Joseph Fleming and Publisher T. O. Mathews delivering the eulogies.  Burial followed at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Vurdulas died Thursday, morning at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  Among those from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Bowden (the former Eloise Rinkle) and children, Dan and Sue, of Evansville, Ind., and Mr and Mrs. Alfred A. Smith, of Crown Point.

In an interview with the Press Miss Joanie Vurdulas said that both she and her sister, Stavrula, will continue to make their homes in Fairfield and will continue the operation of the family business, The Fairfield Candy Co, as in the past. "we've had a good teacher in our father," she added.
