Mrs. Grace Hubble. 87, of Fairfield. widow of former Fairfield mayor Ora Hubble, died at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 23, 1983, at Way-Fair Restorium. Mrs. Hubble had been a resident of Way-Fair Nursing Home for two years. Five weeks ago, she suffered a stroke and was hospitalized at Fairfield Memorial Hospital before returning to Way-Fair.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church with Bro. Carroll Kakac officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be conducted from 6-9 p.m. Monday (tonight) at the Johnson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hubble was born near Mt. Erie Oct. 4, 1895, the daughter of John and Della (Miller) Galbreath. She was educated at the Miller Creek School and attended summer sessions at Normal School in Fairfield. She taught school prior to her marriage to Ora Hubble Aug. 4, 1915. He preceded her in death July 12, 1974, after 58 years of marriage.
Mrs. Hubble was a member of the First Christian Church. of Fairfield. For nearly 60 years. She was a church deaconess, a long-time member of the Missionary Committee, and a Sunday School teacher,
She belonged to the Domestic Science Club, Royal Neighbors and the Fairfield Woman's Club.
Survivors include one daughter. Mrs Sam (Wanda) Puckett, of Fairfield; three sons, Dr. Kenneth Hubble, of Lincoln, Nebr.; Dr Ellsworth Hubble, of Truth or Consequences, N. Mex.; and Gene Hubble, of Phoenix. Ariz.; four brothers, Lavere and Gerald Galbreath, both of Homestead, Fla.; Joe Galbreath, of Centralia; and Leo Galbreath. of Olney; two sisters, Mrs. Oleta Shannon. of Mt. Erie; and Mrs. Lorene Fitch, of Monon, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren .
