Mary Rose, 98, died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009 at her home in Fairfield.

She was born Oct. 23, 1910 in Hamilton County, the daughter of Jesse Rockett Sr. and Anna Martin Rockett, and was married to Willard Rose, who died Oct. 11, 1994. She was retired from Airtex.

Surviving are two daughters, Marguriete Rose of Fairfield and Nancy Mayes (Adean) of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; two sons, Jerry (Dolores) Rose of Granite City and Don (Betty) Rose of Arlington, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Rose of St. Charles, Mo.; three sisters, Pat Wood of O'Fallon, Mo., and Mae Baurss and Imogene Scott of Elmhurst; a brother, James (Freda) Rockett of Enfield; ten grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son (Billy H. Rose), three sisters and two brothers.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home
in Fairfield, with burial in Springerton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5
to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
