Vernard L. Haggard, 59, of Vincennes, Ind., a native of Goldengate, died Tuesday, Sept 20, 1983, at University Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind.

He was the quality control manager at Vincennes.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Foursquare Church in Vincennes. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in that city.

Mr. Haggard was born Sept. 21, 1923, the son of Burley and Betsy (Garris) Haggard.

He is survived by his wife, Joan (Miller) Haggard, of Vincennes, Ind.; four  sons, John, Burley, Jerry and Jeff Haggard, all of Vincennes, Ind.; one daughter  Janice Reeves, of Vincennes, Ind.; one brother, Burl D. Haggard, of Vincennes,  Ind. four sisters, Ina Dean Carrie, Mary Dardeen, Etta McGuyur and Charlene  Anderson, all of Vincennes, Ind.; and five grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and a sister.
