Mrs. Ella Mae Austin, 90, of Wayne City, died at 11:35 a.m. Monday, June 24, 1996, at Jefferaonian Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon.

She was a homemaker.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning (today) from the Wayne City United Methodist Church, with Rev. James Peak officiating. Interment was in Thomason Cemetery. A visitation was held at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City Wednesday evening and at the church prior to this morning's service.

She was born in Wayne County Dec. 4, 1915, the daughter of Charles C. and Bertha Walker Freeland.

On Apr. 28, 1923, she was married to Harvey Austin. He passed away Jan. 29, 1983.

Mrs. Austin was a member of the Wayne City United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, Lester Austin, of Rochelle; two daughters, Eva Gray, of Wayne City; and Kathleen Garner, of Woodriver; five grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
