October 1942

Bell Powless, daughter of John M. and Margaret Watson Powless, was born in Wayne county, December 11, 1858 and departed this life, October 20, 1942. Aged 83 years, ten months and nine days.

She spent her entire life in Wayne county. Early in life she was converted  and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church, to which she remained faithful.

For the past 15 years she made her home with Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Fox, of Barnhill. She has been in failing health for a number of years, having had a stroke of paralysis about six years ago. Her death is the result of a fall October 12. 1942 suffering a broken hip and a fractured neck.
